Softex filings. Annual Performance Reports. Import documentation. LoP renewals. STPI liaison. Every obligation tracked and filed, so your registered status stays current and your benefits stay intact. For IT and software companies registered under the Software Technology Parks of India scheme.
STPI registration is available to IT and software companies that export software or software services from India. In exchange for meeting compliance obligations, registered units receive a defined set of operational and financial benefits.
Benefit | What It Means |
Customs Duty Exemption | No duty on import of hardware, software, and capital goods used for export production |
Green Channel Clearance | Priority customs processing for faster import and export of goods |
Deemed Export Benefits | Domestic purchases treated as exports — eligible for applicable exemptions |
FEMA Facilitation | Certified Softex forms accepted as proof of export for foreign exchange realisation |
Single-Window Clearance | Simplified documentation and approval processes through the STPI authority |
These benefits remain available only as long as the unit stays compliant. Lapsed compliance puts all of them at risk.
Finance holds the export revenue data. Operations tracks the imported equipment. Legal manages the Letter of Permission. Accounts compiles the Annual Performance Report. No single team owns the full picture, and STPI compliance requires all of it, filed together, on time, in the right format. Greenvissage acts as the single point of coordination, pulling the data together across teams, preparing every filing, and managing the STPI relationship throughout the year.
Companies that are formally registered under the Software Technology Parks of India scheme. Registration is voluntary but once registered, compliance obligations are mandatory. IT and software companies that export services from India are the primary category of registered units.
STPI registration is available to eligible IT and software export businesses operating from India. Registration allows companies to access various operational benefits while complying with ongoing reporting obligations.
A Softex form is a declaration of software exports certifying the value of software or software services exported in a given period. It is filed monthly or quarterly depending on export volume and the requirements of the relevant STPI centre. Certified Softex forms are used for foreign exchange realisation and FEMA reporting.
The STPI Annual Performance Report (APR) captures export performance, import utilisation, employment details, and Net Foreign Exchange calculations for the reporting period.
